An East End beach was vandalized over Labor Day Weekend.
Lifeguard stands at Foster Memorial Long Beach on Noyack-Long Beach Road in Sag Harbor were flipped over and pushed into the water.
The Southampton Town Parks and Recreation Department says lifeguards discovered the incident after arriving for duty Monday morning.
According to park officials, this is not the first time this beach has seen vandalism this summer, with the stands also being found with writing on them on prior occasions.
The town’s limited holiday staff had to be diverted to the location to help rectify the situation and get the beach open for residents.
“This is not the way they should have to end a summer of hard work and dedication to keeping the beach safe,” the parks department said in a social media post.
It is unclear how much damage was done to the stands at this time.
