A house was completely destroyed after a fire in Suffolk County Wednesday evening.

Fire officials tell News 12 they were met with heavy flames in the basement and on the first floor upon arrival.

The blaze happened around 5 p.m. at 25 Bruce Lane in Brentwood.

Firefighters from five total departments responded and worked to get the scene under control within an hour, officials say.

The fire extended all the way to the attic, leaving the home gutted.

There were no reported injuries.

The Red Cross says they registered three households, with five adults and one child, for emergency assistance, including financial aid.
