The grandson of late mob boss John Gotti was arrested Wednesday for allegedly assaulting his girlfriend inside his East Norwich home.
Nassau police say they responded to a report of a domestic disturbance around 10:30 p.m. Tuesday on Mill River Road.
Upon arrival, they were informed that a verbal argument took place between Carmine Gotti Agnello and a 29-year-old victim.
Investigators say he began to yell at the victim because he believed she was cheating on him. The argument escalated as he pushed and shoved her.
The woman told police that she walked outside of the residence, only to be followed and slapped in her left cheek.
Police say she reported being punched in the face, choked, pushed to the ground and kicked.
He also broke her cellphone by smashing it on the ground, according to authorities.
Police say she refused medical attention at the scene.
Angello was apprehended without incident the following day. He is charged with assault, criminal mischief and criminal obstruction of breathing.
As News 12 previously reported, Angello was sentenced to 15 months in jail for
COVID relief fraud.
Police say he is set to be arraigned on the new charges Thursday at First District Court in Hempstead.
