A Suffolk County man is accused of sex trafficking a woman since May 2025.

Human Trafficking Investigations Unit detectives say Anton Trent, 50, of Shirley, had been forcing the 29-year-old victim into prostitution and when she refused to comply, he would subject her to violent sexual abuse.

Following a year-and-a-half long investigation, search warrants were executed Thursday at two locations, 14 and 17 Moriches Middle Island Road in Shirley.

The searches were assisted by the FBI, detectives from the Seventh Squad, Narcotics Section, Telephone Records and Surveillance Unit, Criminal Intelligence Section, Nassau County District Attorney Investigators and the Suffolk County District Attorney’s Office.

Trent will be charged with promoting prostitution, aggravated sexual abuse, and three counts of sex trafficking when he is arraigned in First District Court in Central Islip on Friday.
