The New York Knicks capped off their championship season on sports’ biggest night, taking home the Best Team award at the 2026 ESPYS after ending their 53-year franchise title drought.
ESPN’s annual celebration, hosted by comedian Marcello Hernández in New York City, honored the year’s top athletic achievements while raising funds for the V Foundation for Cancer Research.
Following the team’s 4-1 victory over the San Antonio Spurs in the 2026 NBA Finals, the Knicks’ night of celebration did not stop with the team trophy. Knicks forward OG Anunoby also won the ESPY for Best Play.
At the heart of the team’s success was point guard and New Jersey native Jalen Brunson. The New Brunswick native was nominated in three individual categories and won all three: Best Athlete — Men’s Sports, Best NBA Player and Best Championship Performance.
The sweep further solidified Brunson’s status as one of the most dominant forces in professional sports today.
