A health aide was arrested for stealing money from an elderly woman in Nassau County.

According to detectives, Madeline Barranco, 60, was caught on home video surveillance taking a black locked box with money inside.

The 95-year-old victim’s son realized and contacted Nassau police to investigate.

The incident happened around 6:30 p.m. on July 11 at the patient’s house in West Hempstead.

After a thorough police investigation, the Bellmore woman was taken into custody.

Barranco was charged with third-degree grand larceny when she was arraigned on Thursday in First District Court in Hempstead.
