Former Nassau County Executive Ed Mangano was resentenced to 10 years in prison on Wednesday after several delays. The resentencing was postponed many times and came after an appeals court overturned part of his conviction on corruption charges. Mangano was initially sentenced to 12 years in prison before Wednesday's updated decision. He has served four years of his sentence. Mangano was convicted in 2019 of taking bribes to help secure millions in Oyster Bay town loans for a friend. An appeals court overturned two of the convictions because he was not an Oyster Bay town official, but the rest of his charges were upheld. Mangano, 64, did not physically appear in court on Wednesday because he is incarcerated at the Federal Bureau of Prisons' Devens Medical Center in Massachusetts. He attended the proceeding via Zoom while his lawyers were in the court room.

Mangano's attorneys did not comment after the proceeding.
