Federal officials are expected to declare the end of the Cyclospora outbreak soon, according to a report by the Washington Post.

The Food and Drug Administration says the stomach-sickening parasite outbreak began on July 17.

The agency traced it to Taylor Farms and its growers in Mexico.

Taylor Farms made an announcement and issued a recall following the discovery.

Thousands of people fell ill after ingesting contaminated food items such as lettuce and other fresh produce.

Two deaths have been linked to the outbreak in the United States, according to the Center for Disease Control and Prevention.
