An Amityville couple had a close call with a possible bank scam last week.

The husband received a phone call from what appeared to be the number listed on the back of his TD Bank card. The person on the other end told him his card was being used at a skimming device and that someone was coming to pick it up.

The man showed up and waited outside for some time before eventually leaving when the couple refused to answer the door.

The couple says that they caught on to the possible scam in time due to previous News 12 coverage of similar incidents.
