A 75-year-old woman was seriously injured after being struck by a vehicle in Middle Island on Wednesday evening.
Police say 21-year-old Jocelyn Negron Harris was driving southbound on Church Lane when her vehicle hit Karen Allen, who was in the roadway.
Allen, of Middle Island, was taken to Stony Brook University Hospital with serious injuries.
The vehicle was impounded for a safety inspection.
