A house fire left five adults and two children displaced early Sunday morning in New Hyde Park.

Firefighters were dispatched to the residence on Pilgrim Street around 1:48 a.m. Upon arrival, they found flames on the second floor.

The local fire department controlled the blaze in around 30 minutes with the help of crews from Floral Park, Manhasset-Lakeville, South Floral Park and Garden City Park.

One resident was taken to a hospital via ambulance. Their condition and the extent of their injuries is unclear.

The cause of the fire remains under investigation.
