A two-family home was destroyed by fire in Nassau County Sunday evening.
Flames broke out around 7:15 p.m. on Orchard Beach Rd. in Manorhaven, fire officials say.
The Port Washington Fire Department, under the command of Chief Lore, got the initial calls and were assisted by crews from at least three additional departments.
The Nassau Fire Marshal’s office tells News 12 firefighters had to be evacuated at one point, due to heavy fire, and went to an exterior attack and a third alarm.
Occupants were able to get out on their own, but at least three adults are now displaced as the home was deemed uninhabitable.
The cause of the fire is under investigation by the fire marshal and the Nassau Police Arson/Bomb Squad.
