A 25-year-old man is being charged with DWAI two months after crashing his car in Bayport.

According to police, Mario Auer, of Shirley, was driving over 100 miles per hour while under the influence of drugs when he sped past a school bus on Sunrise Highway near Nichols Road and slammed into the center median.

Auer sustained serious injuries from the incident while the passenger suffered some minor injuries, police confirmed.
