A collision left a 20-year-old motorcyclist seriously hurt Tuesday evening in Islip, according to police.
Authorities say the driver of a Chevrolet Tahoe was heading eastbound on Raymond Street and stopped at stop sign at the intersection of South Bay Avenue.
The driver continued through the intersection when a motorcyclist heading north on South Bay Avenue went through a stop sign and struck the passenger side of the vehicle around 6:52 p.m.
The motorcyclist from Bay Shore then struck a curb and was ejected onto a nearby lawn.
Police say he was taken to South Shore University Hospital for treatment.
The driver of the Chevrolet Tahoe was uninjured.
