3 cases of measles reported in NJ, U.S. cases top 1,000

The Centers for Disease Control and Prevention says nearly all of the cases involve people who were unvaccinated.

More than 1,000 measles cases have been reported in the U.S. so far this year, according to state health departments.
In New Jersey, three cases have been reported so far.
The Centers for Disease Control and Prevention says nearly all of the cases involve people who were unvaccinated.
This marks the second worst year for measles in the U.S. since the disease was declared eliminated in 2000.
Three people nationwide have died from the disease.
