UPDATE: While we could still experience a storm with wind-driven rain tonight, the threat for destructive winds and hail has diminished.

ON-GOING ALERTS: Storms that do develop and pass through the state have the potential to produce a lot of rain in a short amount of time. Therefore, the flood risk continues until late tonight

Slow moving thunderstorms allowing a tremendous amount of rain to collect very quickly. The organized nature of the storms is slowly fraying, but New Jersey is not out of the stormy woods just yet. Pockets of widely scattered storms could continue to materialize for the remainder of tonight.

Friday is looking better, but I would like to point out that it is not without some weather issues. Aside from an early morning leftover shower, the forecast for morning and early afternoon looks to be partly sunny. Any time after lunchtime it's possible another batch of storms could develop. I don't think the weather will be as vicious as it was on Thursday, but any storm that develops could produce flooding rains.

Friday evening is the beginning of better weather that will carry us into the upcoming weekend. Both Saturday and Sunday look very nice at this point in time.
