Stormy weather arrives this weekend to New Jersey with isolated stray thunderstorms today followed by scattered thunderstorms for Saturday evening. Some of the Saturday afternoon storms can be severe. They're expected to pop-up after 3 p.m. and turn more widespread by sunset.
Sunday will be mostly cloudy with periods/bursts of rain throughout the day. Temperatures this weekend will be in the mid-80s on Saturday in the sun before the storms, and it will be in the mid-70s under the mostly cloudy Sunday sky.
Monday, Tuesday, and Wednesday will also be unsettled with periods of thunderstorms lingering on and off during the midday. The last round of showers departs by Wednesday morning. A weather system is stuck over the region through the next several days, which encourages these periods of rain. The jet stream picks it up and carries it out by Thursday.
