A Carle Place business is helping people who have trouble swallowing enjoy real food that looks and tastes familiar.
Textured Food Innovations transforms everyday foods into meals with a modified texture for people with swallowing difficulties.
“We have food that’s real food and it looks good, it tastes good and it’s just a wow, that’s it,” said founder Dr. Carol Letzter.
Chef Tony Meo says the team cooks, purées and molds the food to the right consistency.
Jerry Weir of Westbury lost his ability to swallow after a second stroke in 2025. He says the meals have made a big difference. “This was really big for us, very important. This was actually enjoyable,” Weir said.
The founders hope more people learn about the meals and how they can help improve the quality of life.
