East Hampton Village Mayor Jerry Larsen is the focus of a write-in campaign ahead of the general election, despite not appearing on the ballot.
Supporters have launched an effort encouraging voters to write in Larsen's name as a challenger to East Hampton Town Supervisor Kathee Burke-Gonzalez.
"I'm really humbled by the effort, and I'm hoping you'll be successful, so please go out and vote," Larsen said.
The write-in effort follows the Democratic primary in June, when Burke-Gonzalez defeated Larsen with over 62% of the vote.
News 12 reached out to Burke-Gonzalez for comment regarding the Larsen write-in campaign, but she declined to comment.
