The fire was brought under control within 60 minutes.
A total of four adults will be displaced due to no power and fire damage to the home.
The fire is under investigation by the Nassau County Fire Marshal’s Office and NCPD Arson/Bomb Squad.
"The flames were 30 feet in the air," says Stephen Anikewich of Hicksville. "The flames were so close it could've spread"
"Most importantly, people got out okay," says Mindy Black, a neighbor. "What I saw was lots of flames coming out of the house and lots of lights and the house is totally destroyed."
