The Islip Fire Department says a car burst into flames overnight on the Southern State Parkway. Fire officials say the incident happened Sunday night in the eastbound lanes just before Exit 43S to Route 111 in Islip. Everyone inside the vehicle evacuated before crews arrived on the scene. No one was hurt. There is no word on the cause of the fire.
